I started my clay journey in 2017 at California University of Pennsylvania, where I originally went for a biology path. I enrolled in the pottery class as a way to “let off some steam” and switch up my schedule, as I have always been artistic. I changed my major the following semester.
I then received my BFA of a concentration in ceramics and drawing in 2019. During my education there, I assisted my professor, Duke Meicznikowski in teaching beginning classes and as a work study. In my last semester of college, I completed an internship at Stray Cat Studio in Beaver Falls, PA where I focused on production work and more teaching.
I have been teaching ceramics ever since, and am currently instructing both youth and adult ceramic classes for Crealde School of Art in Winter Park, Florida since 2023.
For my personal work, I like to create functional pottery that focuses on themes in nature and the human experience around emotion.
I work in my home studio setup, continuing to explore how to stretch the potential of a pot. I love the idea of creating something that resonates with me, that can be taken home and enjoyed by someone else.
